I work for T-Mobile in addition to being an intern with Breakaway Communications. As the cellular guru, I bring a lot of insight to our team from the wireless world perspective. During my daily news searches for our clients, I’ve been stumbling across interesting articles related to wireless and other cool finds.
“Five lessons for Google from Nexus One's sluggish start” - CNN: This article really hit home after the countless sour faces I’ve gotten when I tell customers we don’t have a store demo of the Nexus One. I too would want to test drive a $529 phone before buying it. Every customer that walks out the door because we don’t offer the Nexus One in-store is a lost sale for Google and T-Mobile.
“CTIA joins GSMA in support of a “Universal Charging Solution” for mobile phones” - Mobile Crunch: The new micro USB chargers are green – the days of throwing out dated chargers after upgrading to a new phone will soon be over! These chargers will educe power usage since they charge 20-50 percent faster. Have you ever bought a charger and in two months it stopped working? The new USB chargers have a channel that allows the cord to be wound around it so there is less stress, thus prolonging the life of the charger. Not to mention you’ll save money with every cell phone, MP3 player, Bluetooth headset or digital camera upgrade. The one-charger-for-all will also save tons of space in retail stores and time organizing inventory. The Universal Charging Solution is long overdue, and everybody wins!
“First Camera, Then Fork” - NY Times: Yes, I’m one of those people who take pictures of their food and upload them to my famous food album on Facebook. I love the trendy presentation of food from high-end and tapas-style restaurants but also appreciate the unique, down-to-earth eats from mom-and-pop spots. I keep telling myself I need to start Yelping more or follow through with my new year’s resolution of starting a food blog…but you have to start somewhere.
“Fashion, Shopping, Accessories...” Lately I’ve been keeping up with the Kardashians – particularly Kim’s fashion blog and Twitter. I hope to see more exciting clothing from their bebe collection. And yes Kim, I would rock those high-waisted mom jeans, and I love the rugged-but-girly military-inspired look.
