Ouch, that smarts

The more I read about the McChyrstal/Rolling Stone debacle, the more amazed I am.

Looking at the situation as a PR person, I find myself asking “What was his PR team thinking!?” Combined with “Where were they when this bus ride/conversation took place!?”  After spending weeks together, no doubt McChyrstal and his team felt Michael Hastings from Rolling Stone was “one of the gang” and someone they could include in their conversations. After a few Bud Lights, sounds like they let loose.

Hasting’s story serves as a powerful reminder that there is no such thing as “off the record”.
