There was a nice story in today’s New York Times about a company that
officially launched today named NewsBasis. According to the article,
the goal of this site is to better connect public relations
professionals and journalists. I’m personally very excited to test this
site out and will be sure to report back in a few weeks with my
thoughts.
There’s an old public relations adage - “there is
no such thing as bad press.” Many public relations people wouldn’t necessarily
agree, but there’s no denying that where there’s attention, there’s opportunity.
Issues with the iPhone 4’s antenna (or “antennagate”, for the hyperbolic) have
created a whirlwind of negative attention for Apple in recent weeks, but after
Steve Jobs’ Friday press conference, it’s difficult to say whether the exposure
won’t ultimately benefit the company.
And I am a high-tech girl. Well...almost. It’s been about a month since my swan dive into the deep end of the high-tech swimming pool, and I’m starting to move past treading water into a full-fledged doggy paddle.
One
of the perks of working at Breakaway San Francisco is our location right
next
to beautiful AT&T Park,
home of my favorite team, the San Francisco
Giants.
Stacey Paris, one of our remote Breakawayans got a reminder of what it was like to live in San Francisco yesterday … when the earthquake hit on the Ontario/Quebec border.
